You often associate hearing health with dealing with the inevitable effects of aging. However, you may not typically connect certain healthy foods with effective hearing. Next on the list is magnesium. Among its benefits is preventing hearing loss related to noise. It shields the hair cells of the inner ear when free radicals are released. Magnesium also prevents blood vessels from reducing in size and losing oxygen, also associated with hearing loss.

Eat plenty of broccoli, spinach, potatoes, artichokes, bananas, beans, leafy greens, brown rice, almonds, and barley. These foods are reported to be high in magnesium.
